I have had a cold for the last week..and tried..filtered water with Himalayan salt..hibiscus tea..tea with honey..some OTC items..I guess they all helped..today I was drinking about 64 oz of water out of my 16 oz tumbler..the tumbler with the straw makes it easier to drink all that water..the water flushes out the phlegm in my lungs..seems to be helping..
I have been having either a cold..allergies..and now breathing problems..asthma runs in my family..and for me i usually get triggered by pet hair..the last few days I have been rubbing several drops of peppermint oil on my chest..it’s similar to putting Vicks vapor rub on..but way healthier..and opens up my airways..hot showers help..and tea with honey..
This is a closed group for breast cancer patients, survivors, friends and family looking for support..<3
This is an incomplete list of resources that I contacted on a daily basis for support..I am sure I am leaving some out..but maybe this can be helpful to someone struggling with breast cancer right now..You are not alone and there are always some group or website or support line to reach out to..
This group is ran by Sandy Zuniga, she is a breast cancer survivor and has a page on Facebook, this website and YouTube videos reaching out to other women..
I called the support line for this group..
I called this group a few times for support, they have oncology social workers to give support on the phone..
I called this phone line several times,,also ran by oncology therapists..very helpful and they have physical offices to go to..
They offered phone support..
They have a social worker that you can see for free if you don’t have insurance..she comes to you if you are very ill or you can go to her private home..
I added the 700 club only because they have a 24 hour prayer line..I called several prayer lines..
The nurse navigator at my hospital was also very helpful..I believe most hospitals..at least the ones in NJ have a nurse navigator on staff to walk each breast cancer patient thru the steps..
Facebook was a valuable resource also..just being able to chat with others all hours of the day..I also connected with other survivors..
And there’s also me..I am a stage 4 breast cancer patient..and anyway that I can be of support I am available..
I am selling these copper ribbons to support breast cancer..50% of the proceeds will go to breast cancer charities..

Don’t you forget about me..is a song by Simple Minds from the 80s and a well known movie The Breakfast Club ,it was on tv this past weekend.,ahh reminiscent of my childhood..yes I grew up in the 70s and 80s..Molly Ringwald was on Oprah’s Where Are They Now..and she was singing ..Don’t you forget about me..At the time I wasn’t a big fan of the 80s ,but now I look back with fond memories..Ironically..I have been in touch with some old friends from high school and may have a reunion..so the 80s come rushing back in my head..or my version..I never had the big hair..but BonJovi was a big part for me,,especially being from NJ and I still love them..would love to meet Jon BonJovi..Definetly a bucket list thing..ahh a simpler time..I still lived at home with my parents..my dad was still alive..I had my whole future in front of me,,with many challenges and struggles ..would I change a thing..nah..it all makes me who I am today..and being in touch with my one high school friend is bitter sweet..we were frienemies.. Ha they didn’t have that term back then..but maybe we can become close 20 yrs later..ahh never know..but if I could go back and talk to that 17 yr old girl I would tell her ..”you are an amazing girl..”..”go to art school or cooking school”.. And my dad’s favorite line..” Don’t worry about stupid people” ..oh he was right..I worried about being liked …fitting in..who cares..does it matter..be you..be who you are..
